The LS RANCH
LS Ranches, Inc., headquartered at Crowley, Texas, operated one of the largest herds of Texas Longhorns and Longhorn crosses. Most of the cattle were sold at auction in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards in February of 1983 except for a few head to continue "Longhorn Trails", the ranch's entertainment division that hosted visitors from throughout the world.
Today, the LS family offers the opportunity to visit the LS Ranch near Groesbeck and view Longhorns close up, take photographs and hand-feed them over the cedar rail fence. In the modest ranch house, many news articles, photographs and other memorabilia chronicle the history of one of the most interesting modern ranches in Texas that produced President Reagan's "Duke", Neiman Marcus' "Red River", Texas USA "The Sesquicentennial Bull" and "Big Tex" who starred with Santa Clause in a children's Christmas book."
